With our Better Together tariff, you can join our growing community of homeowners powering their homes with solar and battery storage, while getting paid 4 X more for 300kWh per quarter of solar energy they don’t use each year, with our 40c feed-in tariff.

  • Can I stay with my current energy retailer?

    If you want to access our leading 40c feed-in tariff, paying you 4 X more than other energy suppliers for your excess solar, you would need to change to us. That does mean moving away from your current supplier, but you won’t be missing out – we deliver outstanding service and competitive energy plans.

  • Is Social Energy a battery?

    No, but don’t worry, it’s a common misconception. We’re an energy company, with a clever technology package that helps you save more from solar and battery storage.

  • How does Social Energy work?

    We use our clever piece of technology, the Social Energy Hub, to connect to solar battery systems, such as our exclusive Duracell Energy Bank range of batteries. Once we’re connected, we optimise the way your energy is stored and used to maximise your savings, buying your excess solar energy for the best price when it’s needed elsewhere.

  • What is your feed-in tariff?

    If you join us with one of our solar battery packages, you can get our 40c per kWh feed-in tariff for 300kWh per quarter, followed by a standard competitive feed-in rate. To find out our rates in your area, visit our energy plan page.

  • What is the Social Energy Minimum Guaranteed Payment?

    The Minimum Guaranteed Payment (MGP) is an exclusive offer that we provide to our members. We guarantee a minimum feed-in payment based upon the battery you install. For example with a 14.4kWh Duracell Energy Bank 2, we’ll guarantee an annual credit of $600, on top of your battery savings. So if you don’t feed-in much, you’re still going to save more with us!

    Yes! We offer everything you need in one place…whether you just want solar, or you’re ready to get a battery, our team of solar design consultants are ready and waiting to create your ideal money saving system, with options from $0 down.   • Do I need a battery to join?

    Our energy plans are built especially for homes with solar and batteries, so you will need a battery to get on board. If you haven’t got one yet, or haven’t got started with solar, we can help! Visit our calculator to get an estimate of how much you can save, and we’ll arrange an appointment for you to talk with our design experts, to get your perfect system.

  • What certifications do you have?

    With savings as good as ours, it’s no wonder many people want to know how credible they are. We’re a Clean Energy Council Approved Solar Retailer and use a network of CEC Accredited Installers to complete your system fitting.

  • Am I tied into a contract?

    If you ever decide you’re not 100% satisfied with our Better Together tariff, you’re welcome to change energy retailer at any time (but we doubt you’ll ever feel the need). We won’t charge you for leaving either, you just pay for the energy you’ve used.

  • Do I need a new meter and will it cost me anything?

    Without installing a smart meter, you can’t sell your excess energy for 40c per unit. Don’t have one? Worry not. We’ll install one for you completely free of charge.

  • Should my system be connected to the internet?

    In order to be paid your Better Together tariff, your Social Energy system needs to be connected to the internet at all times. If your internet goes down for an extended period, you could lose out on your savings. Don’t worry though, our support team will be there to help if your system does ever go offline.

  • When will I start saving money?

    With your new solar battery system in place, you’ll immediately begin saving money on your energy bills, by reducing the amount of power you need to buy. You’ll start saving more within 90 days of your installation, with our Better Together solar tariff. The best bit? All of our customers are protected by great warranties, meaning your savings are safe for the future as well as the here and now.

  • How do I access my energy bills?

    Your energy bills and savings information can be accessed in the Social Energy app. Simply open it up on your chosen device and head to the ‘My Energy’ section at the bottom of the screen. You can also use it to upload your meter readings.
